Embracing the Digital Age
At Ecole Secondaire Highwood High School, we believe firmly in the value of technology and its impact on our students learning and success. To that end, our school contains 4 fully outfitted computer labs, including an up-to-date lab of over 40 powerful computers running the latest hardware with the most recent Adobe software packages. Our lab also contains Vex Robotics systems for students interested in Computer Science and Robotics with C++ programming.
Students are encouraged in a variety of course areas to utilize technology to its full potential to improve learning and drive student achievement. As technology is constantly evolving, so to is the technology offerings at our school. Our cutting-edge lab is a great example of how our school works hard to stay up-to-date in a field that is constantly evolving and changing.

Literacy, Numeracy, and Foundational Indigenous Knowledge
These areas are important in all courses and are emphasized in all levels of Communications Technology. Through the use of Literacy Artifacts tied into different course sections as well as incorporating foundational knowledge about Indigenous culture to build upon understanding of, and respect for, Indigenous Peoples in Canada, students will increase their ability and respective knowledge in these areas as required by Alberta Education.
